The Undergraduate Biology Educators of Alberta (UBEA) is a group of biology educators working in Alberta to promote the best educational experience for aspiring biologists. As part of our mandate, UBEA is committed to promoting reconciliation, diversity, equity, and inclusivity (RDEI) both in our community membership and in the undergraduate biology educational experience for students in our classrooms. UBEA welcomes active participation by all individuals regardless of gender, race/ethnicity, national origin, LGBTQIA+ identity, religious identity, age, socioeconomic status, or disability status. We are committed to proactively transforming undergraduate pedagogical practices in biology toward creating a decolonized, diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for educators and students alike.
